Hosanna

Paul Baloche

Praise is rising, eyes are turning to You, we turn to You

Hope is stirring, hearts are yearning for You, we long for You

‘Cause when we see You, we find strength to face the day

In Your Presence all our fears are washed away, washed away

Hosanna, hosanna

You are the God Who saves us, worthy of all our praises

Hosanna, hosanna

Come have Your way among us

We welcome You here, Lord Jesus

Hear the sound of hearts returning to You, we turn to You

In Your Kingdom broken lives are made new, You make us new

How Great Is Our God

Chris Tomlin

The splendor of a King, clothed in majesty

Let all the Earth rejoice, All the Earth rejoice

He wraps himself in light, And darkness tries to hide

And trembles at His voice, Trembles at His voice

How great is our God, sing with me

How great is our God, and all will see

How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands, And time is in His hands

Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One, Father Spirit Son

The Lion and the Lamb, The Lion and the Lamb

How great is our God, sing with me

How great is our God, and all will see

How great, how great is our God

Name above all names

Worthy of our praise

My heart will sing

How great is our God

Exalted Over All

Vertical Worship

From heaven’s throne, You came to us,

And set your heart upon the cross,

We’ll never know the sacrifice You’ve made.

For all our sin and all our shame,

You took the nails, You took our place,

No one else could do what You have done.

One name is higher,

One name is stronger.

Than any grave, than any throne,

Christ exalted over all.

From the grave, where death would die,

You rose again and brought us life.

You’re reigning now, the Savior of the world.

You’re reigning now, the Savior of the world.

One name is higher,

One name is stronger.

Than any grave, than any throne,

Christ exalted over all.

The only Saviour, Jesus Messiah.

To You alone our praise belongs,

Christ exalted over all.

We’ll sing your praise,

We’ll sing your praise,

We’ll sing your praise forever.

We lift your name,

We lift your name,

Jesus over all.

scripture
MT 5:21-26

“Anger” (click link to Bible Gateway) ESV

21 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’

22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.

23 So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,

24 leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

25 Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison.

26 Truly, I say to you, you will never get out until you have paid the last penny.

THE MORALS OF JESUS’ GOSPEL & KINGDOM

Morals = Right vs. Wrong, Good vs. Bad. 100% relational between people and people, as well as between God and people. How do we act in relationship with people? In relationship with God? Who defines these morals? How are these lived out? What is best for me, my family, my society and my world?

Jesus came to “re-establish” Kingdom morals (this is The Gospel) within humanity. He had previously established it (think Garden of Eden) but mankind broke off and forged a new, and lesser, morality of its own. His attempts with Israel had gone awry and now he has come to do it himself.

What morals did God establish? Torah. Pentateuch. First 5 books of the Bible (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy).

The author (Matthew) highlights 6 morals (or laws) that Jesus addresses and then re-establishes on a foundation of the GREAT COMMANDMENT(S), “loving God and loving our neighbor”.

8.02 – Overview: The MORALS of Jesus’ Kingdom…God’s gameplan is the same. The “Old Testament Law” is for our good. Come learn these right and good morals!

8.09 – (1) The Right and Wrong in ANGER & RECONCILIATION

8.16 – (2 & 3) The Right and Wrong in SEXUAL PURITY IN RELATIONSHIP

8.23 – (4) The Right and Wrong in PERSONAL CHARACTER & CONVICTIONS

8.30 – (5 & 6) The Right and Wrong in NONVIOLENT ACTIVISM TOWARD ENEMIES & PERSECUTORS
